Being a Special is fantastic and unique opportunity for those who want to give back to their community, fullfil their dream of being an officer whilst keeping their day job, or even for those who would like to experience the role before joining full time.

Our volunteer officers wear the same uniform, equipment and have the same powers as full-time police officers and attend the same incidents and events. As part of the policing family you will be trusted, developed, supported, protected, valued and have all out of pocket expenses covered by the force.
