Cheshire Constabulary can offer you a unique and rewarding role as a Communications Operator within our Force Control Centre.

You will deal with members of the public and provide vital support to frontline officers on a day to day basis.

Salary information:

On joining you will start as a Scale 3 and entitled to shift allowance an example of your earning potential is below:

Salary £19,452 - £23,406 plus shift allowance & weekend enhancements. 

  • Full Time Rotational 24/7 shifts = circa £26100 (incl 20% shifts plus weekend enhancement)
  • Part Time Earlies = circa £13000 (incl weekend enhancement)
  • Part Time Lates = circa £14000 (incl 10% shift plus weekends)
  • Part Time Nights = circa £17900 (incl 33% shift plus weekends)

Please note, your salary will increase through progression to a Scale 4.

We do not expect you to have experience of emergency call handling and you will be given full training, followed by a period of job related coaching to make sure that you are ready for the challenges that this rewarding role will present.

We are looking for people who can bring their valuable skills and experience to our Force Control Centre and welcome applications from anyone with:

  • Customer service experience – over the phone or face-to-face.

Please be aware that our work is 24/7 so you will be required to work shifts, examples of the full and part time shift patterns are attached to this advert.

Although full time and part time opportunities available, please note that your initial training period will be full time.
