Applications are now open for substantive qualified Inspectors to apply for the opportunity to transfer to Cheshire Constabulary as a Force Incident Manager.

To support the force with its ambition we are looking for an enthusiastic individual who will be able to make a difference as a Force Incident Manager within our Force Control Centre based at Cheshire Constabulary Headquarters in Winsford.

The Force Incident Manager role is a highly valued role across the force and Chief Officer team and will enable the successful candidate to develop and demonstrate at a strategic level their operational competence.

This role is responsible for the management of a team of Sergeants, Constables and Police Staff and may be the Senior Operational Officer responsible for assigning specialist policing functions. As such, this role carries specific legal powers to enable the maintenance of law and order.

As a Force Incident Manager you will plan, manage and monitor operational policing activity and will effectively and efficiently direct the deployment of resources to incidents, including critical incidents.

The Force Incident Manager manages and mitigates risk effectively in order to ensure the safety and wellbeing of officers, staff and the public and to respond effectively to problems, incidents and crime.

In addition to this, as a substantive Inspector, you will be responsible for the initial assessment, strategic intervention and management of spontaneous incidents, providing a 24/7 single point of contact for the Force in regards to risk and threat management, thereby safeguarding the reputation and integrity of the Cheshire Constabulary.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Substantive Inspector with significant operational experience
  • iTFC qualified
  • Have no outstanding PSD, discipline or integrity issues
  • Be able to work the designated shift pattern

The Force Incident Manager role works on a well-established shift patter working 2 days followed by 2 late/ night shifts with 4 rest days in-between. These shifts may vary from 9 hours to 12 hours depending on which week of the shift pattern it is. However, there are also Continual Professional Development days built into this shift pattern to support with your ongoing development and training within the role.

Please note that this opportunity is subject to a 2 year minimum tenure period and the successful candidate will be required to successfully pass Enhanced vetting status in order to be recruited as a Force Incident Manager with Cheshire Constabulary.
